We honor all the animals that spend their time with us. Below you’ll find pictures of our gang, the visitors who spent a lot of time with us, and each of the special spirits who has passed on but remains here to guide our hearts. The namesake of our farm is the strongest guiding spirit, whose presence we feel every day. You can read about him here. |
CAB He joined us at the beginning of 2005, when he was just over a year old. His first owners needed to find him a new home, and we were able to provide that for him. We started out as foster parents, but eventually took Cab in permanently. |
ROMEO We found Romeo in Pennsylvania in late 2007. He came with the name, but earns it daily with his loving, interactive and comfortable demeanor. Heather is teaching him to compete in Eventing, with hope that 2010 will be full of success. |
JASMINE In 2004, we rescued several kitties with the idea of having barn cats and good farm companions. Jasmine decided she would focus on guarding the house, and is a very vocal cat with dog-like cooperation. |
WILLOW Willow also came to us in 2004. She loves the outdoors more than anything, and usually sleeps with the horses in their straw bedding or on their hay. She comes in only on the coldest of days. She is the sweetest cat, almost zen in her calmness. |

VIGGO Viggo is our guide dog in training puppy, who we are raising for Guding Eyes for the Blind (www.geb.org). We met him in August 2009, and will be raising him for most of 2010 until he enters advanced training school in New York. He is incredibly smart, attentive and sensitive. We teach him what the program needs him to know, and he is a quick learner and impressive problem-solver who loves to be helpful. |

THE MINIATURE DONKEYS We keep our neighbor’s miniature donkey, Morning Glory, to share our pasture with her and to provide our horse a field companion. They are very good friends. Morning Glory was bred in 2008, and we were lucky enough to be the farm where she had her first-born. His name is Pumpkin (born between Oct 31 and Nov 1, 2009). |
“WINTER” (A Winter Wish) As this website expands, we will write much, much more about this special guy. Heather found Winter as a newborn puppy in Florida. She raised him perfectly in concert with his breed and his personality, and he gave her nothing less than complete spiritual balance. He shared her journey back to Virginia, grounded her as she established her career, gave her husband the nod of approval, and looked over the farm the three of us bought together. |
